it would be impossible to tell you every single adventure i have encountered with this girl. the first time i met her i was a junior in high school, the year was 1996. i was lost on a brand new high school campus but a blonde girl approached me with an enthusiasm that seemed impossible. it was almost instantaneous, all the fear and uncertainty i felt as an outsider evaporated. from that moment on, her smile was carved deeply on my memory tablet. she introduced herself as tanya.

in the years after high school our relationship has grown from friendship to sisterhood. i still remember the days when we used to sit on the beach or talk on the telephone until the sun would rise about our future, our dreams. dreams that seemed so unlikely to come true back then.

we’d love to own a vw van one day.

we’d love to visit the polynesian islands and dine on coconuts for the rest of our lives.

we’d love to meet the men of our dreams, spend the rest of our lives waking up every day right next to them.

on september 8th, 2012, the last one on the list came true for her. it was such an honor to be able to stand alongside her on that big day, witnessing the moment when she said the words i do, the moment which the rest of her life with the man of her dreams began. it was also an incredible privilege to be telling this love story with sarah.

tanya and christian have walked different roads but those roads converged in a beautiful way on this hot saturday in september. tanya and christian are such a gift to each other, brought together by the great Author of every perfect dream. on this day they had PREVAIL engraved inside their wedding bands and sailed off into the sunset on a yacht called eternity.
