there is always something uniquely special about two people getting married away from their usual surroundings. it’s exciting to gather with family that are arriving from around the country. for jon and kat, choosing a charasmatic small town in the south meant so much more than their homestead in the north. asheville is heart warming, charming, unforgettable; in a sense, these two are just the same. arriving just the day before, rosina and i left feeling like we had just witnessed two friends becoming man and wife. jon and kat love ‘their people’ in a big way, that much was obvious all weekend long. most of all though, jon and kat love each other in a big way. there is tenderness, support and care in every glance and every touch. and just like the journey that brought us all to asheville, their journey towards each other was a coming home too.
